Without Paul

I’m a KJV Bible-believing dispensationalist that gets his doctrine from Paul’s writings.

When I have brought up Paul in conversations with other Christians, they say you make too much of the Apostle to the Gentiles.

So let’s see where we would be without Paul.

He wrote 13 Epistles.

The next writers would be Moses and John with 5 each.

That’s 20% of the whole Bible and 48% of the NewTestament.

I’ll list some things that Paul speaks of in his writings and the Scriptures that go with them.

1. Mystery

Romans 16: 25-26, Colossians 1:25-26, Ephesians 3: 1-5

2. There is no Jew or Greek.

Romans 10:12

3. For by grace are you saved.

Ephesians 2:5 & 8, Titus 2:11

4. All our sins are forgiven by His shed blood.

Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:14, 2:13

5. Sealed by the Holy Spirit

Ephesians 1:13, 4:30

6. Peace with God

Romans 5:1, Ephesians 2:14-15

7. Not under the law.

Romans 6:14, Galatians 3:23, 4:4,5

8. Heirs with Christ.

Galatians 4:7, Titus 3:7

There are so many more things we can learn by reading and studying Paul’s Epistles. Roman through Philemon.

Since you are practicing social distancing this would be a good time to redeem the time.

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Ephesians 5:16

A Ransom

We hear of ransom throughout our culture today. There is ransomware that holds our technology captive. People have been known to pay a ransom for the return of a possession or a person.

We ourselves were held in captivity because of our sins.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 3:23

Someone had to pay that ransom and as we know it was Christ and what His death, burial, and resurrection accomplished for us.

But my point here is how ransom is used in Scripture.

We find in Matthew that the ransom was for many.

Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Matthew 20:28

Calvinists love to use this to support their doctrine.

Mark 10:45 also speaks of a ransom for many. By the way these are Christ’s own words in red letters.

Next, we’ll see that ransom was used by the Apostle Paul in 1st Timothy.

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

1 Timothy 2:4-6

We have a contradiction in Scripture. Who is correct, Jesus or Paul?

To get some clarity on this we need to search the scriptures.

Christ came to His own who were Jews in time past. Salvation at that time was for the Jews.

There is a separation going on between the circumcision and the uncircumcision. God set up this program back in the Old Testament with Abraham.

He came unto his own

(Jews), and his own received him not.

John 1:11

Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

John 4:22

But now because of the Jews unbelief, God made a change. Acknowledging this change is essential to understanding Scripture.

For the heart of this people(Jews) is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

Acts 28:27-28

The message given to the Apostle Paul by Christ is that now there is no middle wall of partition that separates Jews from Gentiles.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Galatians 3:28

The contradiction between the two ransoms can be resolved by rightly dividing Prophecy which was for Israel and the Mystery which is for the Body of Christ.
