Are there aliens? This seems to be in the news lately. The government is holding hearings and trying to decide what is going on. Where are these so called UFO’s coming from? Is there life from somewhere else other than on the earth?
How about you, are you an alien?
We were and some still are aliens.
That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
Ephesians 2:12
Paul writes that yes you were aliens, Gentiles that is.
According to this scripture there was a separation between Jew and Gentile.
They had the covenants of promise, we didn’t.
They had hope, we didn’t.
They had God, we didn’t.
So how do we shed this alien identification?
There are two great words of scripture that our Apostle Paul uses to show there is a change that has taken place and they are “But now”.
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ
Ephesians 2:13
Before the blood of Christ you could have entered in with Israel as a Gentile by becoming a proselyte (a convert) to the Jews religion. We have no record of how many of these there could have been, but I think there were few.
This “but now” time frame was when Christ’s blood was shed, not before.
That’s why studying the Bible dispensationally is so important. If you were a Gentile living during the earthly ministry of Christ your only option would be to become a proselyte.
But now because of the shed blood of Christ, Paul goes on to say:
For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
Ephesians 2:14-16
The middle wall of partition between Jew and Greek was broken, the keeping of the law and commandments to become nigh are done away with and a new body of believers has been created “The Body of Christ”.
If your alien status has changed, Great!
If not there is still time to become nigh to God by trusting in the shed blood of Christ and the finished work of the cross.
